Here’s a recent find from one of our local thrift stores, counting apples. I’m not sure what this was really used for previously, but as a preschool projects it’s a great activity to practice some math skills. I’d love to see a handmade version creation come from the crafty moms too. I envision a wonderful clay or knitted counting apple set too.
This set came with 2 1/2 apples and 4 1/4 apple pieces all cut from wood. They are all nice life sized pieces and together they make a whole apple. We can practice whole, half and piece or even quarter with this set. We can also practice adding and subtracting.
