Combine your empty cardboard tubes, such as paper towel and toilet paper, with scraps of paper, felt and googly eyes and you have the makings of some monster crafting fun. Your preschooler will love creating their own not-s0-spooky monsters while you reuse and get creative. You can also combine glitter, markers and other supplies you have in the craft box. This is the perfect activity for Halloween parties or making your own Halloween decor.
Materials you need:
- Cardboard tubes
- Googly eyes
- Felt scraps
- Scissors
- Glue
How to make cardboard tube monsters:
- Cut the cardboard tube to whatever size you’d like. For toilet tissue tubes, you could just leave them uncut.
- Apply glue to the cardboard.
- Add felt, paper and other craft materials as you’d like.
- Glue eyes in place and let dry.
What I really like about cardboard tube monsters is the creativity your preschooler can explore without the typical scary visuals of Halloween. You can recycle some items instead of throwing them in the trash and make fun creatures. Your preschooler can also practice their cutting skills with the scissors and felt with this project – yay!
